Fimea uses Cloudia’s services to make their procurement processes more efficient

The Finnish Medicines Agency Fimea acts as the licensing and supervisory authority for pharmaceutical operators and medicinal, blood and tissue products for human and veterinary use. In addition, Fimea’s tasks include the coordination of the national development of the pharmaceuticals sector, research activities and the assessment of medicinal treatment. Fimea has been a client of Cloudia since the fall 2017.

Fimea started using Cloudia Contract in the fall 2017 and Cloudia Sourcing in the spring 2018. Fimea’s Finance Director Esko Kiiski says that when acquiring a contract management system, the goal was to facilitate contract monitoring and reporting.

“The adoption of Cloudia Sourcing was more related to the obligation of carrying out EU procurement electronically, but we will certainly be using the system for other purposes, too.”

A clear decrease in workload

Kiiski says that Cloudia’s services have generated savings, especially when it comes to workload.

“Searching for contracts no longer takes a lot of time; instead, the user can easily find the contracts they want.”

According to Kiiski, the use of Cloudia Sourcing in carrying out sourcing processes significantly reduces the workload, especially at Fimea’s registry, as documents related to calls for tender and document-related tasks are handled electronically in Cloudia’s system.

“Sourcing and contract management can also be integrated, and we expect the integration to make the entire procurement process more efficient.”

Kiiski praises Cloudia Contract for its ease of use and versatile search functions.

“In our opinion, Cloudia Contract and Cloudia Sourcing are suitable for both small and large organizations.”
